Peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, Robert Norman Grawberger passed away at the age of 54 at Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, MB. His battle with cancer was long and hard, but his courage and strength never faltered. Left behind to cherish his memory are this mother May, three children Michael, Diana (Mark) and Blake, siblings Harold (Bernice), Marcedith (Jack), and Bert (Gisele), many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Norman was born December 12, 1953 to Alfred and May Grawberger from Piney, MB. Norman was predeceased by his brother David, father Alfred, four grandparents and two nephews. Norman was a loving father, always giving himself completely to his children. Even when he was out on the road he was always there for them in any way he could. He loved children. Often, while at a restaurant or at the mall, he would start up a conversation with a curious youngster. He wasn’t the shy type and could befriend anyone. Norman’s family and friends know him for being caring and selfless. If anyone was in need of a lift, oil change or help bringing in the wood, he was there to lend a hand. The result of this kindness was evident in the help and support that he received during his struggle with cancer. His family and friends dropped everything for him and always asked if they could do more. Norman’s family would like to thank all those who supported and prayed for Norman during his struggle. A come and go viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the International Christian Fellowship Church, Piney on Friday, February 15 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Wpg., MB R3C 3J2
