Obituary of Annie Penner
Peacefully on February 24, 2008, at the age of 90, our Mom passed away at Bethesda Place in Steinbach, MB.
She is survived by her children; Ernie Penner (Judy), Elaine Stark (Bob), George Penner (Linda), Glen Penner (Connie), Tara Archambault (Dan), and her grandchildren respectively: Tanis Menheer (Jon and great-grandson Logan), Lisa Stark and Shawna Downey (Darin), Jason and Craig Penner, Monika (Chris), Jessica, Oliver, and Elliot Penner, Joel and Luc Archambault.
Mom was born April 23, 1917, in Ste. Anne, MB, and lived in the area until moving to Whitemouth in 1955. In 1938, she married Stanley. Mom and Dad moved to Steinbach in 1996.
Mom was an outgoing person who enjoyed other people. While living in Whitemouth, Mom was involved in many activities: 4-H, Pioneer Girls, Hospital Guild, and Homecare, to name a few. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and was an excellent cook and homemaker. She always welcomed her family for dinners and occasions and was happy to have her grandchildren stay with her and Dad over the summer holidays. Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling and made countless trips visiting friends and relatives across North America.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB, with interment at Heritage Cemetery. There will be viewing prior to the service.
For those of you who have a mother
Treasure her with care
For you will never know her value
‘Til you see she’s not there
To hear her voice
To see her smile
To sit and talk with her for a while
To be together in the same old way
Would be our dearest wish today.
