Dad and Mom shared the first 35 years of their life together on a small farm east of Steinbach. After their son Robert was accidentally killed in 1962 Mom's sister invited them to come to BC for a visit to help with the grieving process. Six months later they packed their few belongings and moved to BC. They lived in a number of small towns and in 1988 when Dad passed away Vavenby had become their home. When Mom was 85 she moved back to Manitoba. After a few years at Cedarwood apartments she was admitted to Rest Haven Nursing Home where she enjoyed the loving care of staff and management. Surrounded by her children, Marie Klassen Loewen went to be with her Lord and Saviour on February 24th, 2011, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach, Manitoba. Although saddened by our loss, we rejoice that her salvation has now been made complete in the arms of the one who loved her best of all; Jesus Christ. She was predeceased by her loving husband Cornelius R. Loewen and son Robert. She will be deeply missed by her children Marion (Murray) Middleton, Norman (Eileen) Loewen, Margaret (Irvin) Fast, Rosella (John) Penner, Aldin (Debbie) Loewen, Larry (Val) Loewen, Waldon (Debbie) Loewen, Trudy (Rick) Flegel, and Clarice (Steve) Maidment. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 30 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church in Clearwater, BC. Interment to follow at Clearwater Cemetery, British Columbia.
