Aggie passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Aggie was born November 7, 1913 in Russia. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1923. She married Jacob Koop on June 29, 1940. Their daughter Jane was born October 14, 1941. They resided in Sperling, MB where they provided trucking services for the community until retiring in the 1980’s. They moved to Winnipeg in 1990. Aggie loved to be with family and friends and helping and serving others. She volunteered at the MCC Thrift Shops and found other ways to be of service to her Lord. Newcomers at her last home at Bethel Place always received a warm welcome from Aggie. She was predeceased by husband Jake and siblings: Mary, Frank, Annie, Jake, John, Henry and Helen. She will be missed by daughter Jane (Robert) Brown in Victoria, BC; four grandchildren: Art in Ontario; Mike (Diana) in Carman, MB; Toni (Larry Trogen) in Minnesota and Kathy (Mike Baudic) in Winnipeg; siblings, Ed (Margaret) Janzen and Erna (Art) Falk; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Darryl, Jamie, Rachel, Sam, Alex and Eric and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for and visited Mom/Grandma at St. Boniface Hospital. Your assistance helped us through a difficult time. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford Street with viewing prior to the service. Interment will be at Sperling Cemetery following the reception.
