It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Olga Frederick (nee Bially) on June 7, 2013 at the Mountain View Centre in Hinton, AB. Olga is survived by her son Allan (Beth) Frederick, her grandchildren Allison, Jason (Stephanie), and Rowan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Helen Bially and Eva Bially, and her nieces and nephews. Olga was born in Overstoneville, MB to Lukian and Anna Bially and was the last surviving sibling of her family. As a young girl she moved to Montreal and it was here that she met the love of her life Danny. Together with Danny they operated a restaurant in Montreal where Olga was able to carry out her love of cooking. After retirement, Olga and Danny spent their winters down in Florida. They enjoyed their winters down south especially when they were visited by family and friends from Canada. Over the years they made numerous trips back to Manitoba and looked forward to family functions in the Tolstoi area. Olga was a wonderful mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. She will always be remembered for her kind heart. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. Interment will follow at the Overstoneville Independence Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, 10 – 120 Donald Street; Wpg., MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of one’s choice.
