I am unbelievably saddened to hear of Ryan’s passing. My heart feels broken, I worried about Ryan and had spoken with him briefly over the years.
I met Ryan when he moved to Vancouver. We had an instant connection but our lives were on different paths - although we did stay connected from time to time. Although we didn’t know eachother long we stayed in contact all that time, and I’m in absolute awe and horror to hear this (late) news.
Ryan, I saw so much good in you. Your soul was one mine easily connected to and you were such a good person. I remember when I came to your place in Coquitlam and you had heat stroke from being at the beach all day so I brought you Gatorade, Tylenol and some snacks you were so sweet about it, it was such a small thing but you were so grateful. Although we didn’t technically know eachother for that long there’s just some people you stay in contact with.. maybe we new eachother in another life, maybe you reminded me of someone ... either way; I was looking at an old comment you left me and I clicked it and saw “remembering” on your Facebook and my heart leapt out of my chest.
I hope you are at peace, I wish I could’ve been a brighter light for you. I hope you have found it.
Love you Ryan, I will cherish our time together my friend xo.

Our condolences Brenda, Leroy & family. We did not know Ryan but years ago when we had the Reimer reunion in Mexico, our son, Mark & Ryan spent time together riding someone's dirtbike (Clarence Reimer?). Mark often talked about that time & the fun he had with Ryan. Their birthdays were a month apart. So sorry for your loss & the loss of dreams & hopes.

Miss ya ryan. He was supose to come down when I got back from work out of town. Me and him grew up together. Whenever he was in mitchell he always phoned to come hang out. We had many good days. He always opened up to me and called me his brother. We had many chats cause he knew I would always listen and give the advice I could give. My wife and kids loved him. We never grew apart since living together he always kept contant and was so happy about that. Wish I could of done more. Miss you ryan. Love ya brother R.i.P till we meet again man.

Most of my memories of Ryan are as a young boy. I remember his open-hearted welcome to our family when we moved into Mitchel; his curiosity as he disassembled his bikes and other mechanical objects; his pride in his athlete abilities, especially hockey and baseball; his drawings that amazed me; and his laugh. He had the best smile! One memory has come to me several times in the last week. Brenda was standing in the kitchen and Ryan strode in as a lanky (and very tall) teenager, and rested his arm on Brenda's shoulder. I don't remember the words that were exchanged, but the love between them was evident. May God welcome you into the Kingdom, where there are no tears, no pain, no loneliness, nor wrestling with addiction. You are loved.

Ryan was a really good friend to me. He was caring and compassionate and always trying to do his best. I will forever think of him and am excited to meet him again in the after life. This world was too painful for him. May the freedom he feels now be the blessing that gets us all through this deep loss. Sincere condolences to his family and all who loved him. Merry Christmas, Ryan. Never will I stop rooting for you. In all you do. This life and the next.

Ryan meeting you this past month has changed alot for myself and roger, you have left a deep imoact on both of us and taught us some life lessons weather you knew it or not, your kind gentle heartfelt presence is deeply missed and the out bursts of jokes you would say out if the blue had us all laughing the suppers we would sit around and eat the cheers we made to out oeosi and milk and the look on your face was priceless, you not only were a friend but we became family and the gratitude you showed repeatedly never went in noticed and we would do it all over again, we shared stories laughed and cried together but most importantly took care of each other, the emotyness is hard to bare and our heart is filled with sorrow you fought hard but we knew you were tired and you waited till we fell asleep and you couldn't say goodbye but your free from pain and your now with your loved ones and I know that you wanted to go back to BC and right now I bet you have the best view , rest easy now our friend until than, always Ness and roger

Ryan was special to our whole family. We loved him.
He would make me laugh as hard as he could frustrate me....but we loved him. He always stood out from the other teens that came to live with us. I just don’t have words right now.

Ryan was on the hockey team that I coached in Mitchell in the mid 90's. I remember him being a hard worker with a good attitude. He had the biggest smile everytime he scored.
My condolences.
