I loved volunteering with John at the Bibles for Missions thrift store. He was so encouraging and kind hearted. I will always remember his love for sweets and chocolate and especially for his wife and kids, grandkids and great grandkids. John always had wonderful advice to share about life that usually came with a little joke or chuckle too. Johns love for Jesus was deep and encouraging for everyone. He was always so insightful and had a positive spin on faith and life. My prayers are with you all during this time. I will truly miss him. He was greatly loved.

My deepest sympathy to the Kauenhofen family. In Moosehorn and area Mr. Kauenhofen is remembered fondly
as a great teacher and principal. I've heard many students, including my brother, say he was their favourite teacher.
I also heard he was a great support to the teachers while he was here, and I know he was appreciated by the
Moosehorn Baptist Church for his service.

Barbara and I send our condolences to Lenore and family. We got to know John when I was a pastor on staff at Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church. John was a good friend and a support to us through some difficult circumstances. He shared godly wisdom and was a faithful man. May God give you strength in your loss.

Lenore and family, Just this week I was thinking of John and wondering where and how he was. I had the privilege of teaching on his staff for 3 years in Morris. I appreciated him so much as a man of integrity, courage, leadership skills, love and concern for staff and students and a deep faith in his God. He was very kind and good to me as a developing teacher in those early days. I learned a lot from him. This is a man who left a mark on those he met, lived with, and worked with. How you must miss him now.
May God comfort you richly as you remember John and your lifetime of experiences with him - the heritage of a life well lived. Psalm 16:11 You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

I remember him as being kind and gracious.
He was the principal in elementary school,. He was there the year the school burned down in 97.. Mr. K was my math tutor, he had a lot of patience with me! He’s the reason I passed grade 9 math!

How sad I am to hear of John’s passing. He was my first principal when I started my teaching career. I distinctly remember how he included the staff when making decisions within the school community. It was a group effort. A lesson that has stuck with me all these years. I lost touch for many years and then 4 months ago I began playing piano for Morning Song at Meadowood Manor when Lenore called me over and reintroduced him to me. What a blessing it was to see him and Lenore in the audience every time I played there. And how I will miss seeing him when I can resume serving there. My heartfelt condolences, prayers and sympathies to Lenore and the rest of the family. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”

Uncle John was a man you could depend on for help when it was needed. When my dad had his two transplants in Edmonton, uncle John and Aunt Lenora didn't hesitate to go straight there and stay there for weeks while Dad recovered and helped mom and dad while they were there. They didn't hesitate to come to Saskatoon for a weekend just to visit and of course play Rook and see all of the family including the boys. He was not only a great uncle but she was a great man! Enjoy your homecoming uncle John. You will be missed ! Gaylene

Nothing beat Sunday afternoons playing Rook. Grandpa always made a great opponent and an even better partner, especially if he thought the bid was too high. We miss you but know we'll see you again. Love Zach, Crystal, Molly, Max and Merek.
