My sincere condolences to all of tante Theresa’s family, and in particular to you, her children (and my cousins). I am adding my voice to that of my sister Lynne, who posted a message on this same Tribute site last week on behalf of the Bob and Denise Connelly family. We have very fond memories of tante Theresa, her beautiful and sincere smile, wonderful sense of humour and great generosity. These memories go all the way back to the ‘60s and to her family home in St Laurent where she and her kids so warmly welcomed and hosted Mom and Dad and us kids on our occasional visits there. That is where some of us first played with some of you. Life has since taken our family elsewhere in the country and abroad. Time, distance and circumstances have been such that we have not seen much of each other over the years. I am however very grateful for those occasions where we could see tante Theresa and some of you, and indeed many others of our extended family at those joyful annual Connelly clan summer gatherings at the Connelly family homestead farm site in St. Laurent. I sincerely hope that such occasions will return anew and we can toast to your Mom and share a whole bunch of hugs with y’all. My sympathies once again,
Dennis Connelly

Dear cousins,
My brothers and sisters and I were very sad to hear of matante Theresa's passing. She was a wonderful human being, very warm and always smiling, along with being an excellent baker for sure! We used the speak on the telephone a few times a year and she was always so proud of her children, grand-children and great-grand children. She was the maid of honor at our parents wedding (Bob and Denise Connelly). When visiting, she used to ask our Dad to tell her some jokes and he was always more than happy to do so as he loved to tell jokes and make his sister laugh. I know that my parents always admired and respected Theresa and I am positive that they were there to greet her up in heaven and gave her huge hugs. Our prayers are with all of you. xo Lynne on behalf of Dennis, Michèle, Kathleen, Raymond and Daniel Connelly

Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m so happy for Mom, because I know that she is in Heaven, reunited with her parents and siblings, friends, and most importantly her Lord and Saviour Jesus! I will miss her so much, but I know that I will see her again, and make up for all the hugs I missed since I moved to Ottawa in March! I can imagine all the jokes, stories, and hugs they all have now, and they are happy and healthy! I smile when I think of that. Mom is no longer lonely! God Bless you!

My sympathies to all of Theresa’s family. She was a sweet, friendly and charitable person. She certainly walked many miles around town probably thinking what she will be baking next and for who! She was a good friend of my mother-in-law and I am sure they are chatting away trying to catch up in the their news. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Thankyou for these beautiful words! I couldn't agree more! A longer tribute had been sent for The Carillon, of which many of your words confirm who mom was!
I'd love to hear her & your mom-in-law chatting in Heaven! Maybe planning a Christmas menu?! Our appreciation! Ernie & Lynne

To the Connelly family....We considered Teresa our friend. How we relished her homemade soups nearly daily as we worked on our house after a fire. A real trooper no matter what life handed her. We could see her slipping away every time we saw her at the Chalet. She really is in a better place! Johnny and Claudette N.

Thankyou both for your kind words about mom! She LOVED to cook & bake and so she must have enjoyed every soup-delivery! She truly was a "move-forward" woman and so yes, a real trooper as you said. In fact, to reword the saying "If life gives you lemons, bake lemon pie!" That's what mom would've done!

My sincere sympathies go out to your family. I met and worked with Theresa at Economy Foods. She always had a smile when she saw me and she was fun to work with and kind. I had never tried lasagna and she gave me a taste of her homemade lasagna and its been the best one I have ever tasted. I met her at Costco a number of years ago and she gave me a big hug and was always excited to see people she knew from her past. RIP Theresa

Thankyou Valerie! Mom very often spoke of her wonderful friends from Economy Foods! It doesn't surprise me that mom brought you that piece of yumminess! My husband has always said coming in to my family & having a meal was like eating in a different country every time! Mom was an amazingly diverse cook! Italian to French to...well...you name it!
Thankyou for your wonderful words for mom!

My sincere condolences for your loss. As you all know, Theresa holds a very very special place in my heart and always will. May you rest in peace "Mom" and thank you for everything you've taught me, in the kitchen and in life.

Angele, mom very often spoke fondly of you! I love that you said "may you rest in peace 'mom'" because for her you were like a daughter. She'd reminisce about your working with her in the Café Joli, even showing me a pic of you & her in flour-dusted aprons, haha.
Thankyou for your loving words! Lynne & Ernest

Many years ago i worked with Theresa at economy foods. She was always friendly and had an encouraged word for the delivery guy, me. I would like to express my condolences to the family, may God be gracious to you and give you peace during this very difficult time.

I worked with Theresa years ago at Economy Foods. She was always so friendly and such a smile on her face. I met her again about a year ago at Walmart - such a lovely lady. My condolences to her family.

Gladys, mom loved her friends at Economy Foods! I think you were more like her own "kids" than coworkers! I love how you, & many others she knew, would come to her (at Walmart or etc) & let her know how special she was! I was there with her & felt so blessed seeing mom light up at those times!
Thankyou for your kind words! A longer tribute will be in The Carillon.

Julie, mom loved her time at Economy Foods! The friends she made there were for a lifetime! When you said "back in the day" mom would speak like it was just yesterday! She often mentioned people she worked with & those she also got to serve.
Thankyou for your kind words! A longer tribute will be in the Carillon. Lynne & Ernie
