My deepest condolences to the Blatz family. I remember visiting there as a youngster and always having a lot of fun playing on the farm and having wonderful "faspa." The Blatz family were a very, very kind family. My mom had a brain hemorrhage in 1968, resulting in a long coma, within a week of my youngest brother Tim's birth. Us five youngest kids had to be "farmed out" as dad needed to spend time with mom and also keep working to support us. The Blatz family took in our infant brother, and Mrs. Blatz was Tim's first caregiver. I don't remember how long Tim was with the Blatz's, but likely 4-6 months. I don't know what would have happened to my little brother had the kindness of the Blatz family not intervened.
