I had the privilege of getting to know Peter quite well when I did homecare for Erna and had the honor to help take care of him when he was at the PCH. He truly was a man of his word and he NEVER EVER COMPLAINED. Both of your parents have had such a huge impact in my life. They would invite myself and the kids for a Christmas faspa which meant so much to all of us. This world will be an empty w/o them but they have both left an amazing legacy and the service you guys put on was proof of that.
Praying for all of you, I know Peter will be greatly missed.

I have many wonderful memories of my choir conductor at Niverville Mennonite. He always had time to encourage and inspire each one of us. As I moved on with my life, I continued to be warmly greeted by him whenever our paths should cross. He was a wonderful role model. I learned to step out of my comfort zone and reach out to others. What a blessing to have known him!

Opa. You are incredibly special to us grandkids and will be deeply missed. Growing up on the farm in the house that you built and lived in before I did, and seeing you work alongside my dad (Ken) every day made you a daily presence in my formative years. I have many special memories... some of which include: the yummy evening snacks and faspa that you would prepare for us (particularly the special way you made the cheese with the wavy cutter), picking eggs beside you in the barn, your daily visits to check up on the farm in your half ton after you & Oma had moved to town, reading your beautiful and touching translation of your parents letters in the self-published book “Sunrise Tomorrow”, the long welcoming and boisterous table of extended family with special name cards from Oma in your dining room for regular gatherings, the family sharing time in your living room each Christmas on Dec 23, admiring all of your beautiful household trinkets & wall-hangings, crop tours, the way you so lovingly and gently fed Oma, your mint green bathtub (so cool!!), reading the old hockey book “Here’s Howe!” repeatedly in your spare room, the special single bed that was reserved for your naps, and so much more. Thank you for being there for me, and all of us grandkids, as children and into adulthood. To me, you are a beautiful example of God’s love in action. Welcome to your heavenly home. I will miss you. Love always, Mandy

Heather and I would like to extend our condolences to the Krahn family. My first ever real job was working on the farm at Krahn Acres. Your Dad taught me how to properly pick an egg and how to drive/fix some of the machinery they had on the farm. A storey about your Dad that I still remember to this day is one Friday night, Taran and I (12 years old) went with our Grandparents (John K. and Sadie Friesen) to play games at your parents place. At one point in the night your Dad and I were on the same team and I wanted to tell him a secret so I leaned over and I stopped...I looked at him and said "wow, you have small ears" and the table went quiet...and then your Dad replied, "smaller the ears the better the secret stays inside!"

To the family we send our thoughts and prayers. We remember the times at choir practice with Erna at the piano and Peter as director. We have a bunch of great memories from those times. Peter was soft spoken and caring and he had a big influence on our lives. So thankful to have known him at least a little in our life.

Dear family,
I remember your dad, grandfather, uncle, as a man whose influence on my life was pivotal, like few others. Momentarily, or incidentally, he invited me to join the choir - something he later told me was his way of outreach to young people within his sphere of influence.
He seemed to have an impeccable approach to life, integrity, with sincere compassion for others, and appeared to work persistently to bolster and preserve their human dignities.
He quietly exemplified for me, what a “Mensch” might be.
I confess ashamedly, that I likely never spoke to him about his influence in my life. Simply lived life. He enjoyed life and relationships, reasonably, rationally, thoughtfully. I loved him, sincerely.
I join you in giving thanks to God, for a life well-lived, and worthy of being emulated.
I will do my best to join you via the live-streaming of the service. If it bumps into my already longstanding board meeting schedule, will there be a way to watch a recording?
May you sense God’s presence and grace as you all, each in your own ways, say farewell. Godspeed, Peter. You now know all that we, here, still aspire to understand.

Dear Krahn family. I am one of many people who Peter welcomed to the choir, and then taught them to sing. He was optimistic, positive, encouraging, and demanding of his singers. I believe his efforts did much more than raise singers - he was teaching women and men to be be servants of the Saviour. He was a special man. Blessings to you as you celebrate his life and service.
