Dear Pat Seth and Emily
I'm sorry I've only just learned of the passing of dear Hugo. He was a very special man whom I got to know through our common involvement in ministry among international students in Cambridge. He served faithfully on the "Barn" team where his love for international students and barn dancing were both in full view. His departure to Canada left a big whole in the team then and his departure from this life now will leave a big whole in your lives and many others. May the Lord he loved be your comfort and joy as you continue to grieve for him.
Much love
Richard Weston (Oxford, UK)

Dear Pat, Seth and Emily,
Our condolences to you all with the passing of Hugo. It must be hard and we pray that God keep you in His loving arms.
We met Hugo during our time with YWAM in 1981/82. We kept in contact and he visited us in different places: Aarle-Rixtel (the Netherlands), where he taught our kids the song: O why, o why? They still remember it, since that was their first English song. Later he also came to us when we just had moved to Canada (Mississauga, ON), 1998 and later with Pat in Bolton (ON), when they took a last minute flight back to England. And then there were the spontaneous emails and phone calls every now and then. We are thankful that to have known Hugo and we realize the deep loss this is to the whole family. We can imagine how much you miss him. May God be with you.
Godfried and Trudie van Rooij, Utopia (ON).

Dear Pat, Seth and Emily,
Sending condolences to you having just caught up with the news of your loss.
I met Hugo in the Netherlands, when he was there and again in the UK, where he came to do some barn dances in Harpenden where I was living. Those barn dances were much fun.
I have enjoyed hearing news about you all over the years and thoughts and prayers are with you in this season.
Sending much love and hugs to you,
Ruth

Dear Pat, Seth and Emily,
Greetings from England.
I am sorry not to have sent any item for the Celebration of Life Video - I had IT problems that I bet Hugo could have fixed in a moment!
I remember Hugo as a gentleman; polite, courteous, concerned. A serious man yet with a ready jibe or joke dished out with a twinkle in his eye that often took me some time to figure out! I remember his pauses for thought to get the right words with the right import - he forced you to stop and think.
We used to enjoy greeting each other with poor imitations of the English county of Somerset country yokel accents - which I will not be doing with him for some time now.
Sincerely Rev. David Griffiths - YWAM early 1980's

Dear Pat, Seth, and Emily,
Peter and I want to extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of your dear husband and father. My heart weeps with yours and I pray for your heart to heal through the power of the Holy Spirit. God is very near you all, the brokenhearted, and He cares immensely about all your tears. God loves you all and will continue to surround you with HIS divine peace. I have very sweet memories of the day of you first meeting Hugo, and how your pure joy continued as you married the man of your dreams. Hold on to Jesus' love now until you meet Hugo again. That will be everlasting joy. My love and prayers to you Pat.

So sad to hear of Hugo’s passing. We enjoyed many cups of tea while Seth or Emily were at an evening class and Hugo would drop in to visit. He was a special man.
Our sympathies to all family and friends.
