We were blessed to have Howard & Mary as neighbors in our community of Vista Cove & treasure our friendship with them. We had many great conversations about life sitting on the tailgate of the Avalanche in their driveway. They would say come on over & we'll have a Tailgate Party. Remembering Howard... his kindness, caring, generosity, giving of himself to help others, the twinkle in his eye & friendly smile, his zest for life and most of all, his faith in God, his endearing love for Mary, his love & pride of family. We hold dear in our hearts his words & expressions of the Lord to us.
Sending our caring thoughts & prayers. God bless you with His strength, comfort & peace and His promise that you will all be together again. Take good care.
There are angels on earth who touch our lives with their love and now watch over us from above.
With heartfelt sympathy & love,
Noel &Tom Stewart #12 Vista Cove

Sincere condolences to the family. Howard was a community matriarch. It has been an honor to purchase and build a home on Howard and Marys yard and tend to Marys flowers. After we built Howard would stop by to see if my husband had any questions about the property. His love for his former home still very evident. We enjoyed his visits.

A very special memory that I have of Howard goes back to the Fall of 1977 after the direction of Marge and my life was drastically changed, and we had just resigned from the mission that we had been planning to go overseas with for some time previously. We were at a loss to know what to do next, or what our future held, when Howard invited me to join him at Strawberry Lake for the last three weeks of the Institute of Ministry School in September/October of 1977. We stayed together in the school bus which served as a motor home.
During those days, God did indeed speak to my heart, and to Marge and I together during the last week when Jay Bunker was the speaker. He had a word over us that God would open up new doors for us, and indeed that happened. Within less than a week of our returning to Niverville, we got a call from Betty Thiessen of "It's a New Day" to ask if Marge and I would serve on their counselling line during the telecast. Then, over the course of the next year, we had a part in the founding of both the Maranatha Church in Niverville and also of the Christian Enrichment Family Camp at Rock Lake, Manitoba.
God has been good, and I am so grateful to Howard and to Mary for standing with Marge and I during that critical time in our lives. Together, we took the road lest travelled, and that has made all of the difference!
