To Sandra, and his Kids, as well as Laurel's Brothers and Sisters, and Family members. My deepest condolences to all of you. I just finished watching the Beautiful Tribute you all arranged for Laurel. That was Fantastic! Reg, I agree Laurel would have chuckled at the memories and anecdotes brought up in his memory. I did not see much of Laurel in our adult life, as our paths in Life led us in different directions, but I remember Laurel more from us growing up as kids and seeing each other at Family reunions, and such. My memories of Laurel as a kid, and teenager was that he always loved to laugh, at himself, or others. But always looking for a laugh! Some of the pictures brought back happy memories of times when I remember him, and I realize that I would have enjoyed knowing him better as an adult as well. I regret not having been able to travel there, but I wish you all well, in your quest for comfort and acceptance to Laurel's passing. He will always be fondly remembered. -- Rest in Peace Cuzz -- Mel Adrian

I grew up on the farm across the road from the Klassens. I was the sidekick to Laurel's youngest sister Kim. The Klassen home was my second home and Laurel always looked out for me in the same way he looked out for Kim. His big smile and hearty laugh lit up every space he was in. He took on the role of protecting others and making others feel safe around him from a young age. Such a solid guy whose friendly nature, good sense of humour, and most importantly his love for his many family members and enjoyment of life will be fondly remembered always. My deepest sympathy to Sandra, Laurel's children, his siblings and nieces and nephews.

To Sandra and family and to Laurel’s siblings
My sincerest sympathy and love is sent your way. I was so very sorry to hear this news of “my boy”. As his trainer in Winnipegosis, there has always been a special place in my heart for Laurel and then we got to meet you too as you became a part of our RCMP family. My, we had some good times and I remember Reg and Doug coming for a visit and an even crazier time was had! So many laughs. May all the wonderful memories sustain you.

Shocking. Laurel was an integral part of the great team we had at Winnipegosos Detachment. He had an infectious personality, always happy. Our children remember him and today we are recalling his wedding, his yellow snowmobile (it was a Skidoo Blizzard) and his cars. On his days off he and Colin Farquhar would drive down to Brandon for a Big Mac. (there was little to nothing to do for a young single man in Winnipegosis). Linda and I offer our deepest sympathy to Sam (we always called her Sam) and all family members.

Laurel had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed many laughs together especially on the golf course. Those trips to Brainerd with Laurel were filled with numerous jokes and laughter. I still chuckle to myself when I recall how Laurel would ride his brother Reg about his golf game.
His devotion to the Habs I could appreciate but this thing he had for the Roughriders not so much. Regardless I appreciate all the great memories I have of my friend Laurel.

Our condolences to the Klassens. We are old friends of Sandra from BU days. Though we only met Laurel once, we hit it off right away. He was a great match for Sandra.

We were lucky enough to have Laurel coach our daughter in softball. He was such a positive influence to club. Our daughter will miss their secret high-five at first base. And we will miss seeing him on the diamond.

I was a troop mate of Laurel. I remember him as a kind, generous man who always had positive a attitude and always ready with encouraging words for his troop mates. Several times during our time at “Depot” we would drive to Saskatoon together where I would visit friends, then he would complete the drive to visit his family.
Rest in Peace, mate.
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.

Laurel was a troop mate and we chummed around through training. He took me home to his parents home several times through the course of training and even enlisted me in helping them move one weekend. He was a positive force amongst the troop and always ready with a witty remark and a quick laugh. I was with him when he bought his Toyota Supra and we spent cruising about Regina in that fine car.
Very sorry for your loss of such a bright and charismatic man who is gone way before his time.
