We offer our deepest condolences to Axel and all the family, having recently heard of Lydia's passing. We got to know Axel and Lydia in the Richer area and through the Homeschooling group. Lydia was a spark of life and full of great ideas. I enjoyed having an occasional visit with her and having our children play together.
May God fill you all with His Comfort and Peace, as you hold on to her memories.

Praying for peace and love to fill the hearts of the family every time you think of Lydia. She let her light shine!! She encouraged me weekly as she faithfully showed up on zoom to pray for the children in Discovery Time and 5 Day Clubs in Manitoba. Her heart was for them to know the love of Jesus <3 We and the Discovery Time students miss her dearly. <3 till we meet again <3

"The world is deep - and more profound than day would have thought.
Profound in her pain -
Pleasure - more profound than pain of heart,
Woe speaks; pass on. But all pleasure seeks eternity -
A deep and profound eternity." F. Nietzsche
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air,l and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."
1 Thess. 4:16-17

We were in a home care group with Axel and Lydia for a few years and loved getting to them.
Lydia was one of the most caring and loving people we have known. She will be greatly missed by many.
Our prayers are with Axel, Heidi, Morgan and all the family.

It was a bit surreal to me to get this news. When I learned on Sunday of Lydia's passing I was deeply grieved. Lydia poured her heart and soul into nearly every facet of our church and played a critical role in the spiritual health of so many. On a more personal note, Lydia was one of the women who frequently made snacks for our youth group. After I got the news on Sunday I noticed that we still had some of her baking in the fridge... the following Monday Lydia, continued serving our high school Bible study group, even in her death, by providing the teens with delicious cupcakes she had made a few days before. This is just one small anecdote, but I am convinced that Lydia's life was so devoted to the kingdom of God that it will have lasting impact for many years to come.

It has been a blessing to know Lydia, Axel and Heidi and I’m still struggling to believe what has happened.
Lydia was always willing to pray for, help and support people wherever she could and she had special heart for the children.
There are 2 instances to me that stick out and personify Lydia: the first one came a couple summers ago when the church was transitioning into summer schedule, her and I spoke about the benefits of Friday night gathering and prayer and her after praying as a family, they decided to take the initiative and personally facilitate Friday night prayer through the summer. This was something that I very much appreciated, as I enjoy fellowship and prayer.
Our last conversation happened a couple weeks ago at Friday Night at church, they were telling me that they were going to be doing a presentation that Sunday at City Light Church to promote Christian Evangelism Fellowship. They were extremely passionate about sharing Christ with people and CEF was a great way for Lydia to do that.
So many scriptures from James come to mind when I think of Lydia, she had joy in trials and she lived out her faith by taking action. I am so thankful to have known Lydia, Axel and Heidi, may God be with them in this time!
John 11:23-25
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

I am truly blessed to know Lydia. She was such a blessing to my daughter and I, and my biggest prayer support for my family, and someone I can always go to when I am struggling personally and struggling with my family. Hugs to Axel and Heidi. Unfortunately we won't be able to make it Saturday as my daughter is bowling but can picture Lydia there cheering her on as she ALWAYS got excited when my daughter would tell her each milestone she would make with her bowling. Thank you Lydia for being my biggest supporter, my friend, sister in Christ, my daughter's Sunday school teacher, taking time to listen and I will miss your amazing hugs.

It is with are deepest condolences that we stand by you Alex and Heidi in our prayers for you and the rest of the family. It feels like we've only known you all for a short time, but Lydia will always be in a special spot in our hearts. What I remember most about Lydia is her genuineness, she cared, with all her heart, and she was real about her love for people around her and her overwhelming love for Jesus. It was only because Jesus loved her that she could be real with everyone around her. And as she said to us about sharing our harvest, I say to you all about sharing your wife, your mom , your Grandma Thank you, thank-you, thank-you! Thank you for giving her a life where she could grow spiritually to be a child of our living Savior, thank-you for allowing her the space to be real, and thank-you for sharing her with those around her. And as a memory that sticks in my head of Lydia, it is in church, Sunday morning, the twinkle in her eyes and the pointing of her pointer finger as she spots yet another of those little Sunday school kids, just to say hi, to let that child know "Hey I see you and you are special to me!". God Bless you Alex and family.
