Nettie's life impacted so many. From her days at Niverville feeds, to Green Valley School librarian, to her farming days, early and later in life, she was someone who was always approachable and willing to lend a shoulder or an ear in times of need. She would often be the first to contact a person who was going through a tough time and needed a friend.

As one of five siblings growing up on a small Grunthal dairy farm, she quickly built a stern exterior but inside her generosity knew no limits. Her impact was truly felt by every generation around her.

Nettie's life took on a whole new meaning in the fall of 1998 when she married John G. Wiens. Complimented with a new family attached, she was suddenly a new wife, mother, grandmother, and her farming days were to come full circle. For 17 years she and John shared many great memories, and her new family welcomed her as one of their own creating another great chapter in her life.

Her life was full of laughter, tears, and everything in between. She was someone people gravitated to with her larger than life laugh and amazing smile always there when you needed her most.

Her sister Helen was always a beacon of light in her life.

Her daughters and grandchildren were her real passion. In her last days she could be heard telling the nurses what beautiful girls she had.

Compassionate to the end, she repeatedly told her health care aids how much she loved them and thanked them for helping her.

She will be missed more than she will ever know.
